Everton have spread their transfer interest across numerous avenues this summer, seeking to bolster all across the pitch.

It was richly needed, and Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche clearly identified this, having largely wrapped up the bulk of their business already.

However, they seem far from finished, and Evertonians can still expect plenty of excitement to come before the window slams shut.

One such addition could be made soon, if this report is to be believed…

Everton lead the race for Arkadiusz Milik

With a whole host of strikers clearly on Everton’s list, it’s a wonder how Thelwell will choose who to opt for.

Naturally, it all likely hangs on the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and if he is going to sign a new contract or not.

With this latest update from Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport though, it does seem like he could well leave, as the Toffees are now reportedly leading the race for Juventus striker Arkadiusz Milik.

That is what is being reported in its print edition (30 July, page 13), however it also suggests that Premier League rivals West Ham United will compete with them for his signature.

Naturally, this is a saga set to spread out over the entire summer, with so many questions that still need answering.

Nothing is yet set in stone, but there are several players on the Turin chopping block.

Everton’s interest in Milik was previously detailed earlier in the month, with a meagre £6m price tag touted at the time, and the fact that Carlo Ancelotti loved him at Napoli should be enough of a recommendation.

Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave Everton?

With Milik just the latest in a long line of striker transfer targets that Everton are eyeing, the future of Calvert-Lewin is looking more and more uncertain as the weeks go on.

First the £72k-a-week Poland international emerged as a name of interest, and Tammy Abraham has been linked with an Everton switch too. Even Yuri Alberto from the Brazilian league has been touted as an option.

All roads certainly lead to the departure of their English marksman, and it could certainly come this summer given Calvert-Lewin refuses to sign a new contract.

Having joined in 2016, the 27-year-old has matured into a fine Premier League striker even if he has been accused of enduring some shortcomings in front of goal.

He is tall, fast, good in the air and a willing runner, and if he is to leave for a fee this summer or next summer for free, an ample replacement is needed.

Fortunately, in Milik, Alberto and Abraham, these all fit the bill.
