Everton’s work in the summer transfer market is looking like somewhat of a masterpiece from Kevin Thelwell so far.

The Toffees have been able to bring in four new faces for Sean Dyche this summer and all four have made a bright start to life at Goodison Park.

Saturday will provide those four players with their first opportunity to play in front of the Everton faithful in the final friendly against Roma.

Despite their impressive business done in the market, there may well still be some question marks surrounding where the goals will come from.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future is still up in the air, Beto has not exactly been clinical and Iliman Ndiaye is still settling in on Merseyside.

With a few weeks left in the window, there is still plenty of time for Thelwell to pull off another signing with one striker of real interest.

Everton looking to go under radar to land striker target

The record in front of goal recorded by the Toffees last season left an awful lot to be desire with only Sheffield United scoring fewer.

Going into the summer market, it was clearly Everton’s weak point but there has only been one striker brought through the doors so far.

Ndiaye enjoyed his time in the Championship with the Blades but struggled last season in Ligue 1 with Marseille.

As things stand, not a huge deal has changed up top for Everton this summer with the Blues now eyeing a striker who is up for sale ahead of the deadline at the end of the month.

According to Friday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport [page 27], Everton are looking to beat AC Milan to the signature of Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

The former Chelsea striker is a player of real interest to the Toffees with Everton having already made a move to sign Abraham.

However, Everton’s move for the ‘amazing‘ 26-year-old striker was not accepted with Abraham keen to remain in Serie A.

Milan are yet to secure the signature of the Englishman with the report claiming they should not be surprised to see a side from England make a strong push for the striker.

Should Everton sign Tammy Abraham?

The obvious concern surrounding Abraham is the striker’s injury record which is even worse than that of Calvert-Lewin.

Roma are said to be looking to recoup around £26m for the striker this summer who has only scored nine league goals over the last two seasons.

It would certainly be a gamble for Everton to bring in a player with such a poor injury record.

And if they were to land Abraham the surely that would require Dyche to offload one of his current strikers with that department already bloated – albeit with players who may not cut it.
