David Moyes has been very stubborn with some of the young talent at Everton.
Tyler Dibling, who joined in a £40m transfer from Southampton last summer, has hardly had a kick under David Moyes.
Highly-rated left-back Adam Aznou hasn’t even made his Premier League debut yet, and the academy’s biggest talent in years, Braiden Graham, is miles off even getting a cameo appearance.
How would you feel about Hayden Hackney becoming Everton’s first signing? 🤩
Moyes relies far too much on the old guard, and many fans believe it’s the main reason why Everton completely collapsed at the back end of the season.
Some are really concerned going into the summer transfer window, as the Toffees boss will no doubt be looking to bring in more ageing players.
That said, there’s now a staggering story resurfacing about the time Moyes turned down a young striker who’s now wanted by Real Madrid.

David Moyes turned down chance to sign Julian Alvarez
Speaking back in January 2023, when he was West Ham boss, Moyes revealed he was recommended Julian Alvarez by a scout.
However, quite worryingly, Moyes decided against the signing as he preferred Michail Antonio.
“I brought in a new scout who says ‘Look, you should go for Alvarez at River Plate’.
“I watched him and I thought he was a very good technician and done so many good things as a centre-forward.
“But I thought (he’s) maybe not quite the one we want, we had Micky Antonio who had been doing very well and I thought I don’t know.
“You see sometimes the players change in six months but I have to say there are other players like that who you don’t take and don’t go on to be a real success.
“But that one at the moment is just one where probably because it was only a year ago where I decided ‘Nah, he’s not one I’m going to take’.”
Indeed, Alvarez went on to win the treble at Manchester City and is now considered one of the best strikers on the planet at Atletico Madrid.
The Argentina international has just been the subject of a £129m bid from Real Madrid.
