That said, Everton manager David Moyes was asked how he thinks the Three Lions will fare in America, and he’s made a pretty positive prediction.
David Moyes predicts England to go right to the end
Speaking on talkSPORT, Moyes has predicted England to reach the very latter stages of the World Cup and be amongst the likes of Spain and France as the favourites.
“I think England are up there with the top four or five teams in the World,” the Toffees boss stated.
“If the draw goes for you, you get the right games, you perform well enough on the day, England can go as far as they have done in the past.
“I’ve got a big thing about the football being played in the US… we played in the Premier League tournament last year… the conditions and the pitches were difficult for us.
“I think it might suit the South American teams much more than the European teams. But I don’t really see any South American teams that frighten me as much as France or Spain might do in any one game.
“But generally, I think England will be there or thereabouts, I really do.”
