David Moyes may have just put his foot in it with a number of Everton fans.
Since returning to the club in January, Moyes has been able to really get a good grip on the Toffees and guide them to Premier League survival.
Everton finally look like a club on the up as The Friedkin Group get set for an exciting summer transfer window.
Moyes will be financially backed by the Friedkins this summer ahead of the club’s historic move to Bramley-Moore Dock.
A lot of work is needing to be done over the coming weeks to prepare the club for the transfer window opening.
The Friedkins have looked to make some significant changes behind the scenes with Nick Hammond being appointed by Everton alongside a number of other recruitment chiefs.
However, Moyes has now opened the door for a potential return to Goodison Park for a former Everton chief which may cause some debate among the fans.

David Moyes will welcome Graeme Sharp back to Everton
Just one week separates the club from their farewell to Goodison Park.
Everton have big plans to send off Goodison Park after the final game against Southampton will be played in L4.
A number of Everton legends will be in attendance and recognised after the game during the celebration.
And Moyes has admitted he would love to see Graeme Sharp among those players who are recognised for the history they created at the club.
“I want Sharpy to come back. I think Sharpy is one of the finest players to play here and a legend as well.
“I don’t know all the reasons why there were the problems. I am not privy to all that,” he said on Friday.
“But what I do know is that I can’t see for a minute that Graeme Sharp was doing anything that would be bad for Everton. I can only ever see him doing good.
“I think he would be one of the people when the last game comes that if I was someone who had been watching Everton over a certain generation, Graeme Sharp would certainly be one of the players I would hope to see.”
Ironically, Sharp did actually return to Goodison last week for the penultimate home game against Ipswich Town.
But having the controversial figure on the pitch could ruffle a few feathers among the fans on the day if Sharp was to be presented after full-time.
What Graeme Sharp previously said about Everton fans
Sharp was a member of the Everton board when the fans protested in 2023 about the running of their club.
The reaction which Sharp provided was not one that went down well on Merseyside.
“I don’t want to miss games, Everton is in my blood. Of course, fans can have their say and I can understand the frustrations, but some of the protests have gone over the top,” he said.
Considering the finale is set to be a day of celebration, welcoming Sharp back onto the pitch would certainly prove a controversial decision among many.
Moyes may have done a lot of good for the football club since January, but this may not be his best idea.
