Plenty of clubs were interested, and it was seen as a real coup for Everton to land Tyler Dibling.

But rather than kick on, Dibling could not break into the starting XI.

Now, it’s been claimed by the Daily Mail that Dibling has interest from RB Leipzig and could move on after just one season at Hill Dickinson Stadium – and Everton need to be careful here.

Many Everton fans were left very disappointed by how little game time David Moyes gave to Dibling last season.

The youngster started just four Premier League games, and he was left on the bench for 13 of Everton’s last 14 top-flight games. The one appearance he did make was an extremely short cameo against Burnley in early March.

Moyes said in April that Dibling needed to do better in his work in training, so there is the notion that he perhaps just wasn’t quite showing the level required.

But at the same time, many Everton players struggled in those final weeks of the campaign and it surely couldn’t have hurt to use him a bit more.

Leipzig – who have also been linked with Thierno Barry – now want to take Dibling off Everton’s hands.

How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷‍♂️

It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫

The Toffees have to think very carefully about this, because Dibling still has enormous potential.

To sell after one season of very little game time would be extremely disappointing.

But the interest from Leipzig also presents Everton with an opportunity.

A sale should not be considered, but a loan move certainly should. Because we have seen the Bundesliga serve as a great environment for several top young English talents to develop previously.

The likes of Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho, Jamie Gittens, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson all thrive, and Everton have even seen first-hand how Leipzig has helped one of their players before.

Lookman joined the club on loan in January 2018, and although he later did join them permanently, it was a move that was probably the making of him.

Dibling has the potential to find his mojo again with a move to Leipzig.

They might try to buy him, but Everton really ought to propose a loan if they don’t feel he has something to offer the Toffees in the 2026/27 season.
