Thierno Barry had a pretty poor debut season for Everton.

When Everton shelled out £30m on the signature of Thierno Barry, there was a real buzz around Merseyside.

But, Barry has so far failed to live up to expectations as he scored just eight goals in 41 appearances.

Where does Thierno Barry go from here? This Everton fan has had ENOUGH! 😡

The 23-year-old has looked really poor on the ball as well, and many feel he’s quite simply not good enough technically to ever become a hit at the club.

With that said, there has been a transfer development on Barry which may really surprise supporters.

RB Leipzig contact Everton over Thierno Barry transfer

According to The Times, Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have contacted Everton over a potential deal to sign Barry.

Leipzig, who finished third and qualified for the Champions League last term, operate on a data-led transfer model.

So quite clearly, Barry’s in-game statistics rank pretty high, and they feel he could develop into a top striker in the right environment.

Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆

It’s understood that Everton want to recoup the £30m they paid for the Frenchman, so it remains to be seen if Leipzig are prepared to go to that figure.

But in truth, many supporters would’ve been shocked if Barry even commanded a £15m sale at certain points last term.

Moyes and his Toffees chiefs should seriously consider working towards reaching an agreement with Leipzig, even if it means making a small loss.

There have already been clear signs that Barry just isn’t going to work at this club, as the number nine needs to be a lot cuter on the ball and be able to link the play much more proficiently.

The fact Everton are ‘fixated’ on signing a new striker says it all, so there could be some serious legs in this potential transfer.

Selling Barry would allow Moyes to bring in two new strikers, with the likes of Troy Parrott, Ayase Ueda and Liam Delap heavily linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
