Everton are in desperate need of a striker and it appears as if that could be on the agenda this month.
It remains to be seen as to exactly how much The Friedkin Group are going to be able to spend, which could make the loan market an important avenue.
Everton already have Jack Harrison and Orel Mangala on loan, but that could soon change if they were to cancel the former’s deal, as he’s not exactly pulled up trees.
Sean Dyche will surely already have one eye on a striker given the evident need for one and the situations of Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, it seems as if the player Everton already have their eye on would only be able to join if they did some shuffling in these early days of the window.
Everton could join the race to sign Brighton star Evan Ferguson
Evan Ferguson, who is valued at £60m, just hasn’t been able to get going at Brighton in the current campaign, scoring just one goal in 14 appearances for the Premier League club.
It’s a record that’s worse than Calvert-Lewin’s, though he has played just under 1000 less minutes.

Interestingly, it’s been claimed that Everton could soon join Fulham in the race to sign the striker on loan, according to Miguel Delaney in the Independent.
It’s stated that Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United could also find themselves in the hunt.
A move for Evan Ferguson would make sense
Although he’s not shown much in limited minutes this season, he has shown in the past that when he’s backed and enjoying consistent minutes he can be ruthless in front of goal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave at the end of the season regardless and Beto is being linked with a move to Italy, so there’s naturally room for another striker.
Dyche cannot rely on the likes of Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti, as the pair have been injured for the majority of the season and lack any real match sharpness.
With relegation now a distinct possibility there’s no time for messing around.
