Everton aren’t expected to do business in this window but if Arnaut Danjuma departs Goodison Park, they could well dip into the market.

Despite their position of peril in the Premier League, Everton’s transfer business has been shifted aside for more concerning matters.

The Toffees were hit with a second PSR charge and could yet face another while the 777 Partners’ prospective takeover has dragged on for far too long, damaging their reputation on Merseyside before they’ve even been handed the reins.

With Arnaut Danjuma’s exit from Goodison Park also imminent, it’s turning into a disastrous January for the club, who find themselves a point clear of safety in the top flight.

Danjuma arrived on a season-long loan from Villarreal in the summer but his time at the club has unravelled into a disappointment.

Despite the Toffees struggles in front of goal, the Dutch dynamo has only made four starts in the Premier League and this has led to speculation over his future.

Arnaut Danjuma’s loan at Everton is set to be terminated

Danjuma’s loan at Everton is set to be terminated ahead of a proposed move to Lyon.

The 26-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side last week, however, it was revealed that Sean Dyche was unwilling to part ways with him.

While Dyche rubbished reports linking him with a move away, it looks like a difficult task to hold onto the Dutchman, who is seduced by the idea of joining the French side.

That is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Everton already have a replacement lined up for Danjuma, but haven’t revealed who that could be.

There are several possibilities and one of those could be Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique.

Everton could sign Luiz Henrique on loan

Everton were linked with a move for Henrique earlier this month, but there was no fear of him departing as the Toffees were unable to match their demands.

Now, Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo have revealed that Betis are willing to let the Brazilian depart on loan this month, and that is perfect in their current situation.

Director of Football Kevin Thelwell has made it clear that it could be a slow month in terms of incomings given there are other pressing matters to deal with.

This means a loan move for Henrique could be a profitable avenue to go down.

Having previously caught the eye of rivals Liverpool with Manchester United and Arsenal sending scouts to watch him last year, he’s certainly someone who is a “diamond in the rough”.

A fleet-footed wide player, who likes to commit defenders with his electrifying pace, the 23-year-old ranks in the top 6% for successful take-ons and the top 14% for progressive carries across Europe’s top five leagues, as per FBref.

He’s also shown he’s adept at tracking back which is important for any player in a Dyche system. For tackles, clearances and aerials won he places within the top 12% against his positional peers.

On a loan deal, it seems like a no-brainer to replace Danjuma with him.
