In what was expected to be a busy deadline day for David Moyes, Everton only managed to get one deal over the line in the end.
Carlos Alcaraz was Everton’s only signing arriving from Brazilian outfit Flamengo on a loan, with an obligation to buy.
The Toffees did try to bring in more recruits on deadline day, their pursuit of a new winger however would not be a success, as Everton failed to bring in Tommy Watson from Sunderland.
West Brom winger Tom Fellows was also linked with Everton, those rumours though would eventually be denied.
With Moyes’ wish to sign a winger not being granted, the Toffees may now have to enter the free-agent market to bolster their attacking options.

Everton could sign free-agent Ryan Kent
Some may think Everton’s chance to sign a winger has been and gone – the Toffees however are still able to sign free agents past the deadline.
One free agent in particular who could be of interest to Moyes is former Rangers winger Ryan Kent.
Everton were keen on signing Kent back in 2023 when he departed from Ibrox and the Toffees could now reignite their interest.
The winger was most recently contracted to Turkish side Fenerbahce, but his contract would be mutually cancelled after just 19 appearances.
Kent has been without a club since his Super Lig exit and Everton could be tempted into a short-term move.

Kent could be smart signing Moyes’ Everton
Labelled as ‘sensational’ in 2020, by then Rangers boss Steven Gerrard – Kent was one of Scotland’s best attackers during his four years playing in the Scottish Premiership.
The 28-year-old’s goals and assists helped fire Rangers to an unlikely Europa League final in 2022 and if he could recreate that form at Goodison Park – he would for sure be an asset to Moyes’ side.

Having come through the Liverpool Academy, Kent is of course very familiar with the area suggesting he may be tempted into Merseyside return.
