Everton are going to need to be proactive in the summer transfer window.
For years, Everton have been used to offloading some of their top talents to balance the books against their PSR worries.
This time around, David Moyes is going to be at the helm as the Friedkins will finally get their chance to invest in the squad.
The Friedkins will hand Everton a significant transfer budget, with the clear understanding that there is plenty of work needing to be done.
Exactly what Everton are going to need in the market will likely depend on which of their players they hand new contracts to.
Things may have taken an upward turn since Moyes returned to Merseyside, but there is a lot of room in his squad for improvement.

Everton showing an interest in Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis
Going into the summer, Everton are targeting the signing of a new striker, with plenty of uncertainty in that position.
Everton have struggled from injuries and a lack of consistency up top, which will lead to Moyes and the Friedkins to adding some further firepower.
According to A Bola, Everton are one of the Premier League sides who are showing an interest in Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis.
The Greek forward is receiving interest from numerous English sides, with the following clubs credited:
- West Ham
- Nottingham Forest
- Newcastle United
The Portuguese giants do feel protected against any interest from England, though.
Pavlidis has a €100m (£85m) release clause in his current deal and the player is happy playing at Benfica.
Everton may lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin despite their best efforts to get the striker to ink a new contract.
Improvements are going to be needed, but this could well be a step too ambitious given the player’s release clause.

Vangelis Pavlidis has outscored all Everton strikers
It has been a strange season for the Toffees in attack.
Beto hit some impressive form under Moyes, but the Portuguese striker has faded recently, which has seen Moyes hand a start to Armando Broja instead.
| 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 47 |
| Minutes | 3056 |
| Goals | 25 |
| Assists | 10 |
It is no surprise Benfica are keen to keep Pavlidis after the 26-year-old has enjoyed a really impressive season in the Portuguese top flight.
Everton are also eyeing Liam Delap who is going to be in high-demand this summer, with numerous Premier League sides interested.
