Everton are in the market for a centre-back ahead of the fast-approaching summer transfer window.
Manchester City’s John Stones has been linked with a move to Everton, and so too has Juventus’ Federico Gatti.
The Toffees are also having a good look at Tom Atcheson, who is a very promising young defender at Blackburn Rovers.
How would you feel about Romelu Lukaku returning to Everton? 🫣
Does he still have it in him? 😬
Now, there is a fresh report that claims Bournemouth are ready to hijack a French centre-back from the Toffees.

Everton face stiff competition for Maxime Esteve from Bournemouth
Everton were seriously considering a bid for Maxime Esteve last summer after David Moyes personally scouted him in the Championship.
Esteve stayed put at Burnley, but there now seems to be an expectation that he will leave Turf Moor after dropping back down to the second tier.
The Toffees have again been linked with Esteve, although Sportsboom are now reporting that Bournemouth plan to ‘scupper’ their move for the 23-year-old.
What would you do if you were Angus Kinnear this summer? 🫣
The Cherries have him high up on their shortlist of targets as they look to replace Marcos Senesi once his contract expires.
Bayern Munich are also circling Esteve’s signature, as his former manager Vincent Kompany considers a bid.
Evidently, it will be difficult for Everton to get a deal over the line, and realistically, there’s actually no guarantee he would be first-choice at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Considering Esteve is a left-footed defender, he would be in direct competition with Jarrad Branthwaite.
Considering Moyes can’t offer regular footballer, this deal seems to be unlikely, especially considering the other interested suitors.
