Everton are almost certainly going to sign a striker this summer.

David Moyes is ‘fixated’ on signing a new centre-forward and did look at bringing one in during the winter transfer window.

Remarkably, Napoli’s Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a return to Everton, and so too has Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison.

The Toffees have been looking at other options overseas, and one of their rumoured targets scored his 31st goal of the season at the weekend.

Troy Parrott scores 31st goal of the season amid Everton interest

Everton have been showing an interest in Troy Parrott for most of the season, having first scouted him during the November international break.

It has been suggested that Parrott grew up as a Toffees fan, so they may hold an advantage in the race to sign him.

Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have also been heavily linked with the AZ Alkmaar forward, so there is stiff competition for his signature.

Parrott scored his 31st goal of the season against Feyenoord on Sunday with a sublime chip inside the opening minute.

As seen above, the Republic of Ireland international is a clinical finisher and will certainly have impressed Everton scouts with his performances.

There has been speculation that Parrott could be available for just £15m, which seems like an absolute bargain.

At that price, surely the Toffees will launch a bid as soon as the transfer window opens on Monday, the 15th of June.

Moyes will be keen to get his business done early, as last year, there were a lot of late arrivals, and it made for a pretty poor pre-season.
