Some new signings would help the cause, but Everton fans would also love to hear some inspiration from their 63-year-old manager.

David Moyes fails to inspire Everton supporters with 2026/27 target

Sharing their thoughts on the TalkingPoints app, there have been a lot of Everton fans share their desire to sack Moyes over the summer.

There has been a lot of frustration vented from Evertonians towards their Scottish manager on the back of the latest Premier League season.

Moyes is currently working with TalkSPORT during their World Cup coverage, and some of his comments ahead of the new season are not going to impress a lot on Merseyside.

“Well obviously to try and do better than we done last season,” Moyes replied when asked what his target is for the 2026/27 term.

“We certainly done better last season than we had the previous seasons, but ultimately you know you’re always trying to progress.”

Having ended the season on such a whimper it is now time for the likes of Moyes and Angus Kinnear to pump some optimism into the fanbase.

Kinnear backed Moyes amid the Everton struggles over recent months much to the displeasure of fans across the board.

To ‘try and be better than last season’ is the very bare minimum that fans expect from any club.

Whether fans would have believed him or not, Moyes could have provided supporters with some hope for the new season by setting out a clear target to break into the top half.

One Supercomputer has predicted Everton to finish 12th next season and there won’t be many fans who will be expecting much of a step in the right direction.

Everton will come up against five new managers in their opening five games and many will still feel a change at the Hill Dickinson Stadium would certainly have provided a change in mindset come August.

Moyes has a lot to prove in the opening stages of the season following the dismal way Everton ended the campaign over recent months.
