Everton fans have a theory after hearing what Angus Kinnear said in his first interview

Everton fans have high hopes for the future after The Friedkin Group acquired the club last December.

So far, it’s been fairly plain sailing for the new owners since the takeover.

Their appointment of David Moyes could not have gone any better, and the mood around the club right now is the best it’s been for some time.

But the real work starts this summer, with a high turnover of players expected.

Lots of decisions will be made, and it’s surely unlikely that The Friedkin Group can get every single one of them right.

But with the help of CEO Angus Kinnear, hopefully as many smart calls can be made as possible, ahead of the new era at Bramley-Moore Dock.

On Wednesday, Everton released a first interview with Kinnear, who is the club’s new CEO.

Kinnear spoke of the ‘unprecedented’ restructure that Everton face, but is positive about overseeing it.

Kinnear also spoke about his first meeting with Moyes, revealing the pair actually chatted a lot about the club’s academy.

Kinnear faces a huge summer and fans are hoping that he can help the club to make good decisions to help Moyes and the team thrive.

The interview that was released yesterday has been picked up by Evertonians on social media.

And plenty of people were left really impressed by Kinnear and how he outlined the plans the club have going forward.

Many felt he came across extremely professional and eloquent, leading many to feel excited about the future ahead.

@EFCMatt1 said: “Very impressive 👏”

@nickweinstein27 added: “Very well spoken, direct and to the point. Hopefully Angus keeps the supporters in tune with what’s going on with interviews like this. We haven’t seen an “openness” like this from any other ceo / owner.”

@bluesofgoodison said: “Speaks very well and justifies the new structure. Night and day from the previous leadership.”

@UpperBullen said: “Sounds like a serious CEO.”

@grandoldteam added: “Comes across really well. Welcome Angus.”

@DixieDean21 said: “He sounds professional and confident without being arrogant or condescending. A CEO with experience running clubs rather than the Chairman’s m8s and owners yes men. Who would have thought Everton could be run properly?”

Communication has been great since Everton takeover

This was undeniably a great first interview by Kinnear, who touched on several important subjects.

The big takeaway is that Everton will proceed with a football structure that has individual experts leading the functions, rather than one director of football that does everything.

Kinnear – who attended Fulham vs Everton last weekend – is also going to be serving as the man between TFG and Moyes, and it just sounds like a structure that will be organised and effective.

Everton fans have really appreciated the communication so far since the takeover by TFG, and long may it continue.
