The Friedkin Group have big plans for Everton.

Everton’s new owners want to return the club to its past glories and are willing to spend a fortune to make it happen.

The American investors will hand David Moyes a substantial budget this summer transfer window, and they’re preparing a complete reshape of the recruitment team, too.

Kevin Thelwell has left Everton for Rangers, whilst fellow recruitment chief Dan Purdy is also departing, with Wolves named as a potential destination.

The Friedkin’s have been working in the background at hiring replacements, and now their plans have become real over the weekend.

It’s set to be all change in Everton’s recruitment team this summer as the Friedkin’s are desperate to learn from Farhad Moshiri’s mistakes.

They want to assemble a group of best-in-class chiefs that have an eye for a young player, as they look to drive down the average age of Moyes’ squad – which is the third oldest in the Premier League.

The first step in making that happen began yesterday, as new CEO Angus Kinnear was spotted watching Everton’s win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

It was Kinnear’s first day in the job since leaving Leeds following their promotion back to the Premier League.

Highly-rated scout Nick Hammond is also expected to make the move from Elland Road.

Kinnear could take Leeds player with him

With Kinnear now in post, and Hammond to follow, the work begins ahead of the summer transfer window.

They will already be drawing up a list of targets alongside the current recruitment staff and it’s understood a Leeds player could make the switch to Merseyside.

Everton News understands that Junior Firpo is a potential target for Moyes, who wants to sign a new left-back.

Firpo is out of contract at the end of the season, so he’s set to become a free agent. Leicester defender Victor Kristiansen is also being considered by the Toffees.
