Everton made just the one signing in January, with Tyrique George coming in on loan from Chelsea.
The Toffees had a quiet month in the end, which has left quite a few Evertonians disappointed.
Given the club’s position in the Premier League table right now, lots wanted to see The Friedkin Group release the purse strings a little.
What did you notice from the footage of Tyrique George’s first training session? 🤩
The boy looks absolutely electric 🔥
But the owners seemingly wanted to keep their powder dry, and David Moyes will now attempt to deliver European football without heavy mid-season investment.
But the winter window did end with the signing of George, who arrives on a loan basis. Everton have the option to buy George, with the price set to be determined by how much he features.
The move has been praised by fans, who feel this exciting young talent could be a great replacement for the injured Jack Grealish.
After his signing, Everton fans have sent their first messages to the player.
Everton fans urge Tyrique George to express himself and show no fear

George is a highly rated young English talent, and Everton’s move for him is exciting.
We’ve only really seen glimpses of him so far in a Chelsea shirt, but there is a lot to like. Particularly with how quick and direct he is.
And it seems lots of Evertonians hope he showcases these traits from he off.
We asked Everton News readers for the one message they would send to George now that he’s signed for the club, via TalkingPoints.
And the general consensus was for George to play without fear and express himself in the shirt.
“Just go out there with confidence and show us and the world what they’re going to get from u now and in the future..I wish u all the best mate. Now go dazzle the world and show them why David Moyes chose u before any one he could have tried to sign…..and think about that when ur ready to pass or shoot…..SHOOOOOOOOOT 💪🗯🗯🗯”
“Just go out an be fearless!”
“Express yourself, work your socks off and we will love you.”
David Moyes has surely got to throw George straight in from the start vs Fulham, hasn’t he!? 🤔
Let us know your thoughts in the comments…
“Show us your flair! We’ll back you even if you lose the ball. Let’s see some excitement on the wing!”
“Just be yourself and work hard and Everton fans will love you.”
“You can have a huge impact on the Toffees’ bid to finish in the top 8 by causing real problems for opposition sides in key wide areas and help the strikers.”
“Go out there with that shirt on and make yourself proud before anyone else. Take the opportunity and show yourself what you can do. The main thing is you do it with confidence and flare. COYB.”
“It’s simply this, take this wonderful opportunity to show what you can do. Take good counsel, speak to our club captain, he will give you the guidance any young person coming to this historic football club (should get). The rest is hard work, make the keepers you face on the training ground or in the match work, shoot on sight. COYBS.”

Everton fans are ready to adore George
It’s clear that many fans just want George to really express himself, and go at full-backs.
Too many times this season we have seen players be ponderous and cumbersome in the wide areas.

We haven’t seen a player use raw pace to get past his marker and this is something that George will do.
Fans have noted the likes of Jack Grealish and Tyler Dibling can slow the game down with their styles of play.
But George should have the opposite effect when he gets the ball. Hopefully, he will heed the advice of our TalkingPoints community.
