Everton are preparing to leave Goodison Park for the new state-of-the-art stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Toffees only have four games left at Goodison Park before their move to the 52,000-seater at the start of next season.
Everton simply had to move on, as emotional as it’ll be, because the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium will be transformative for the club’s finances.
The new ground could bank an extra £40m in revenue every season, which will allow David Moyes to spend much more freely in forthcoming transfer windows.
So, eventually, the new stadium will be embraced by supporters, but it’s still so fresh at the moment and many remain emotional.
And, ahead of the final game at Goodison, Everton fans have made one simple request.

Everton fans want Saturday 3pm kick-off for final game at Goodison Park
Everton’s final game at Goodison Park is on the 18th of May, as Moyes’ men play host to relegation favourites Southampton.
There likely won’t be a dry eye in the stands as supporters wave goodbye to their iconic home, which was built in 1892.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Everton fans have made one simple request to the Premier League about the date and kick-off time, replying to the post below.
“Saturday at 3pm. There is no other time suitable for the last Goodison game. As traditional as it can be,” @lazyrichie said.
@Dylan_Lee78 replied: “Saturday at 3pm like every game should be. And like the majority of games would have been at Goodison Park.”
“Not, not, not a night game. Never. Weekend afternoon 3pm. Preferably Saturday when most of our games kicked off,” @peegeecee3 added.
@beingJoe90 added: “Saturday afternoon when football should be.”
“Saturday 3pm. It should all be about Evertonians not the media. Traditional kickoff and a fond farewell,” @Dancingmanfound posted.
@mickmcSNB commented: “Saturday 3pm. This last game at Goodison isn’t for Sky, TNT or any other sports channels. The last game at Goodison is for Evertonians and Everton football club. UTFT.”
Unlikely to be held on Saturday
Unfortunately, Everton’s final game at Goodison is unlikely to be held at the traditional Saturday 3pm kick-off slot.
That’s because the FA Cup final is scheduled for that day, so it’s much more likely to be a Sunday afternoon or Monday night game for broadcasters.
By all accounts, it seems if fans can’t get their Saturday wish, the Sunday afternoon would be the preferred option over a clash under the floodlights.
That way, supporters can enjoy plenty of time to celebrate before and after the game rather than having to arrive home early for work the next day.
