Everton manager David Moyes has been criticised a fair bit this season, but he keeps on proving his doubters wrong.
Few expected Everton to beat Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon, especially when the starting line-up was announced.
But David Moyes got it spot on, and now the Toffees have reached the 40-point milestone in their quickest time since 2017.

Everton are actually joint-second in the away table this season, having won seven of their 14 games on the road.
If the home form improves, Moyes’ side have a very good chance of qualifying for the Conference League, and perhaps even the Europa League.

Moyes was slammed by Everton supporters after the Manchester United defeat last week, with many criticising his team selection.

Moyes certainly has his doubters, but there’s no doubt he’s doing a fantastic job, especially considering Everton were in a relegation battle this time last year.
Some of his decisions can be frustrating sometimes, particularly with the lack of opportunities given to younger players, but he’s backing them up with positive results for the most part.
If Everton beat Burnley on Tuesday, they could go joint-seventh with Brentford, depending on their result against Bournemouth.
