Everton face another season filled with Monday night fixtures following their failure to land European football.
David Moyes and his side witnessed a dreadful ending to the 2025/26 campaign, which saw the Toffees finish in 13th place.
Missing out on Europe will have a number of effects on Everton, including a smaller fee for their final Premier League position.
That was a disgraceful performance from Everton… something has to change! 😤
There is also the hidden issue of being one of the sides who will be eligible for more of Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football slots.

Everton face more Monday night fixtures after European failure
In the 2025/26 campaign, Everton played more Monday fixtures than any other side in the Premier League.
This was certainly a contributing factor towards the experience fans had in the first season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
And this could be another issue for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Nine Premier League sides have qualified for European football for next season following Crystal Palace’s Europa Conference League triumph on Wednesday.
Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔
Wolves, Burnley and West Ham have all lost their Premier League status…
Sky Sports will be forced to select sides without European football commitments for some of the Monday night slots.
Clubs competing in Europe are naturally unable to play on Mondays when they have a game on either a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, which makes it more likely that Everton will be selected by Sky Sports.
Everton played seven times on a Monday night this season and face a similar prospect in the upcoming campaign.
“If you’re good enough and you get in Europe, then you don’t find you have too many Monday night games. So all those things are better,” Moyes recently said.
“But the people who I feel most for are the supporters. I think for the younger generation of supporters, Monday night football is not a good thing because your kids can’t get to the game as most of them are going to school.”
Along with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, Everton could find themselves featuring in Sky’s Monday Night Football billing quite a lot over the coming 12 months.
