Upgrades have already begun back at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium as the summer preparations get underway.
Following a turbulent first campaign at their new home, Everton will be looking to fine-tune their new stadium after 12 months of feedback.
A lot of Everton supporters have found transport to the stadium difficult, with post-game transport issues proving a real issue.
Sunday marks the final home game of the season for Everton! 😳
How have you found the first season at the new home of the Blues? 🏟️
Just days on from the final game of the season and Liverpool City Council have installed lighting ‘upgrades’ around the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Liverpool City Council introduce Hill Dickinson Stadium ‘upgrade’
Jordan Pickford has loved playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, but Everton have been unable to nail down consistent wins on home soil.
A report from the BBC has revealed Liverpool City Council’s installation of ‘smart’ street lighting in the streets leading to the new home of the Blues.
The new lighting system has been funded by the Department for Transport, with an expectation for energy savings in the region of 30% over the next decade.
That was a disgraceful performance from Everton… something has to change! 😤
With the primary goal of improving safety around the stadium, the following streets have seen the upgrades installed:
- Great Howard Street
- Derby Road
“We’re proud to be among the first UK local authorities to deploy traffic-adaptive lighting at scale,” said Ali Zahran, principal street lighting engineer at Liverpool City Council.
Many Evertonians will now be hoping for bigger improvements at the stadium, with the transport options proving a real issue for thousands of supporters.
Merseyrail continue to back their Everton matchday services, but this does not mean fans are not experiencing issues.
Unfortunately, changes to the transport links feel like much larger problems that will require significant infrastructure developments to improve the services on offer.
