Leighton Baines has taken on a more commanding role at Everton since Sean Dyche’s departure and the Everton legend continues to show why.
David Moyes chose to keep Baines on with his coaching staff at Everton, as the former Toffees left-back continues to show his expertise.
After Baines managed Everton with Seamus Coleman, it seemed like a one-off scenario with Dyche’s successor set to replace him.
However, Baines would have been beaming when Moyes walked through the door at Finch Farm after their previous success together.
Now, Baines has done something in training that will only add to Evertonians’ admiration for him.

Everton fans will love what Leighton Baines did in training
Baines isn’t long retired, with the 40-year-old only departing the game in the 2019/20 season in an emotional exit from the Toffees.
The Everton legend will no doubt love the fact that he’s still involved with the club, and he certainly gave that impression from a physical point of view in training.
Despite being 40, Baines was spotted getting stuck in on Everton’s club media, training in Everton’s UAE camp, and adopting the familiar position of left-back again.
This is great to see, but also important for the current Everton squad, as Baines will give the right standards needed.

How Baines’ impact has already rubbed off on Moyes’ Everton plans
Moyes will be hoping that Baines’ can integrate his career advice on a squad who have desperately needed it this season.
The former left-back played in a successful Everton side that was on the brink of Champions League, as he was a mainstay in Moyes’ side.
The main reason Moyes wants the veteran coaching is so Baines can improve Vitaliy Mykolenko.
Baines has already shown how his coaching can improve players in a short amount of time, as Mykolenko gained his first-ever Everton assist.
Everton fans will love how Moyes’ plan with Baines has worked to a tee so far, and it’s no surprise that Mykolenko is improving after learning from one of the best.
Another masterstroke from the Toffees boss, and you can expect to see Baines’ involvement further down the line.
