Everton have been biding their time this summer transfer window.

It’s become evident that David Moyes and his Everton chiefs are desperate to get their business absolutely spot on.

That means there has been a lengthy wait to get players through the door at Finch Farm as they don’t want to leave any stones unturned.

Carlos Alcaraz, whose loan was made permanent, and Thierno Barry have been the only signings so far, however, there is finally movement on a target.

It’s just coming to light that the Toffees are making concrete steps to sign a winger.

Everton considering bid for Takefusa Kubo

Everton have been showing an interest in Takefusa Kubo over the last month or so, and now they’re ready to make a move.

According to TEAMtalk, the Toffees have now formalised their interest in Kubo as they’ve made contact with Real Sociedad.

It’s understood that an opening bid is being considered, with the La Liga outfit demanding around £34m for his signature.

Kubo is keen on moving to the Premier League, so Everton appear well-placed to sign the 44-cap Japan international.

Real Madrid are believed to have a 50% sell-on clause on their former youngster,

Kubo stats 2024/25

Kubo registered 11 goal involvements for Sociedad last season, with four of those coming in the Europa League.

The 24-year-old right-winger managed 12 the season prior, so he has consistently been putting up strong numbers.

Kubo would represent a very unique profile for the Toffees as he’s slight but highly technical, something they haven’t had for years.

He has been dubbed the Japanese Messi by some, due to his diminutive frame and wand of a left foot.

If this deal doesn’t go through, Everton could turn to Tom Fellows, who West Bromwich Albion value at around £10m.
