David Moyes will have to assess all his options with the window coming up, but a player ready and waiting is seemingly proving himself.
Everton fans will be thrilled with the ending of this season as Moyes has created a difficult team to beat for the first time in years.
Sean Dyche’s tenure was left on a sour note, and the change for the Scotsman to come in has worked out perfectly for The Friedkin Group.
Exciting times are coming for the Toffees as Everton are in the running for Liam Delap.
Along with their striker problems, midfield and defence will have to be looked at in a summer which is set to rejuvenate the club, but Moyes might have to consider what he’s already got after a player has emerged with an incredible statistic.

Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam does something better than every Premier League player
The Everton manager hasn’t taken too much of a liking to Tim Iroegbunam just yet, as the midfielder has not long been back from injury.
With the likes of James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye ahead of the 21-year-old, his £9m summer move from Aston Villa hasn’t exactly been glowing.
Iroegbunam hasn’t impressed Everton fans and might be surprised that this shocking feat has emerged.
After just 16 appearances in the league this season, the midfielder has the highest interceptions per 90, showing Moyes that he deserves his chance in the team.
| Most interceptions per 90 in the Premier League 24/25 | |
| Tim Iroegbunam | 2.4 |
| Harry Maguire | 2.3 |
| Dean Huijsen | 2.2 |
| Jan Bednarek | 2.1 |
| Rodrigo Bentancur | 2.1 |

Moyes can transform Iroegbunam with Gueye’s future uncertain
Although he hasn’t made his mark just yet, the young midfielder is showing the signs Moyes needs.
Of course, ambition is being wanted around the club, and with Idrissa Gana Gueye likely leaving Everton, a new defensive midfielder will be mooted.
But Iroegbunam is ready and waiting for his chance, and after getting the assist for James Tarkowski’s late strike in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, it proves he can step up in the big moments.
Interceptions are a key component of how Moyes wants to play, with counter-attacking play considered, and it could be the Scotsman’s secret weapon next season.
Instead of the Toffees forking out a large bid for a new midfielder, Moyes should consider Iroegbunam as a way forward.
