There are a whole host of transfer targets that Everton are seemingly tracking, but the likelihood is that only one or two will actually make the switch to Goodison Park, if that.
It is down to the combined efforts of Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell to do their due diligence and ensure that whoever they select as their new signings are ready to come in and make an impact on this squad instantly.
After all, Iliman Ndiaye brings something completely new to the team, whilst Tim Iroegbunam promises to offer a fine rotation option for a midfield boasting an ageing Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana, who is leaving for Aston Villa imminently.
So, if someone is going to be signed, it has to be assumed that the backroom staff have done their background checks on them.
With one particular target, who has reportedly been of interest to the Toffees for some time now, they have had ample time to confirm his competency and make their move.
Everton finally make loan move for transfer target
Everton’s longstanding interest in Jesper Lindstrom, as outlined through various reports spanning the bulk of the summer thus far, speaks volumes for their new recruitment strategy.
Seeking to prey on distressed assets with bright pasts but stuttering presents, already Ndiaye was brought from Marseille fresh from a tough year in France, but just one season since his outstanding Championship campaign.

The same could be said of the Danish playmaker, who would offer something totally unique to Dyche’s side.
Fortunately, Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio was on hand to provide an update, suggesting that a move might be closing in.
A report on his personal website read: ‘New in the Napoli house as far as the outgoing market is concerned. There have been contacts with Everton for the sale of Jesper Lindstrom: it would be a loan with a right of redemption. The English club, however, is not the only one interested in the Danish footballer.’
What would Jesper Lindstrom bring to Everton?
Aside from more depth out wide, there is plenty that Lindstrom can offer Everton that they do not already have in Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil.
For a starter, the 24-year-old is far more physical than this duo, standing at 6 feet and using his powerful stature to terrorise full-backs.
He can take them on or challenge them in the air, and yet boasts the work rate to track back when needed too.
It is likely this tactical discipline that has Dyche so keen on Lindstrom, given when compared to other wingers across Europe he sits in the top 5% for tackles per 90 and the top 10% for clearances per 90.
Starved of action during his first year at Napoli, he had previously scored seven and assisted a further two in the Bundesliga, thus earning his move to the Serie A champions.

It’s a further testament to his talent that Kevin Trapp, a former teammate at his, once claimed: ‘You can see that he’s an outstanding footballer and has very good technique.’
So, with a hard-working attitude and an eye for goal, this is a deal certainly work making, especially if Everton sign Wilfried Gnonto too, another unique profile for the squad.
