Everton are making advances in the summer transfer window.
Thierno Barry is closing in on a move to Everton after weeks of negotiations with Villarreal, so he’ll be signing number two after Carlos Alcaraz.
David Moyes is now exploring a deal to sign Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town, whilst Tom Fellows and Takefusa Kubo are also on the winger shortlist.
A playmaker remains on Moyes’ radar, too, with Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer continuing to be linked with the Toffees.
Now, there is a fresh development on another rumoured Everton target.

Everton officially enter negotiations to sign James McAtee from Manchester City
Everton are in the market for a creative midfielder this summer, and James McAtee is a serious target for Moyes.
McAtee has been made surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola, who is willing to sanction his sale for around £25m.
Now, according to The I Paper, the Toffees have officially opened talks with Man City to sign the two-time Premier League winner, which they believe is an ‘eye-catching’ deal.
The report claims Moyes is a ‘big admirer’ of the 22-year-old, who was part of England’s under-21 European Championship triumph.
McAtee, despite only starting nine games last term, netted seven times for the Citizens, including in the Champions League against Slovan Bratislava.
What Pep Guardiola has said about McAtee
Guardiola was full of praise for McAtee back in January after his hat-trick in the EFL Cup against Salford City.
“He has an incredible sense in front of goal, he has the right tempo, he changed the rhythm to score and I am very happy for him,” the City boss explained.
Kevin De Bruyne has also been complimentary about the City playmaker, labelling him as ‘quality’ last season.
“To give us a bit of a bright spark will do him good but also for us. He gives Pep a little more confidence to play him. It can only be a good thing. He’s calm. He’s got a really good quality,” De Bruyne explained.
So, quite evidently, McAtee remains really highly-rated at City and would be a really exciting addition for Everton, if they’re able to strike an agreement.
