Everton are in advanced talks to sign Thierno Barry.

With Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaving Everton, a striker is clearly a priority for David Moyes.

Thierno Barry is expected to be Everton’s new number nine, with an agreement already in place with Villarreal and on the player side.

Barry will be a late arrival to pre-season as he’s only just departed for his summer holidays in the United States of America.

Though, that doesn’t mean his transfer won’t be confirmed before then, as it’s now been revealed when he could be unveiled by Everton.

When Everton are expected to announce Thierno Barry

Barry is widely regarded as one of the best young strikers on the continent so it’s a real coup for Everton to land his signature.

Last season, the 22-year-old netted 19 goals for Villarreal and Basel.

TEAMtalk are now reporting that he’s expected to be announced as Everton’s new signing in the ‘coming days’, so there won’t be a wait for him to return from holiday.

Everton could still sign another striker

Once Barry’s transfer has gone through, there is a belief that Everton will remain in the market for another striker.

Moyes is open to signing two strikers, with Yousseff Chermiti potentially leaving Finch Farm on a season-long loan.

Fiorentina’s Albert Gudmundsson has been linked to the Toffees, and he would certainly be a great fit as he can play in a number of positions across the forward line.

Al-Hilal frontman Aleksandar Mitrovic is also on Moyes’ radar.
