An Everton target has declared he wants to join a Premier League club, so the Friedkin Group must act fast.
David Moyes has admitted it’s been a struggle this transfer window to get his top targets through the door at Finch Farm.
“The club are trying really hard to get the players I want and I’ve found it really difficult because in my last few years (in his previous job at West Ham United), I’ve been involved in European competition,” the 62-year-old said.
“It’s a bit easier when you’re a club in Europe. You get a better chance of attracting a lot of players. We’ve been in for a lot of really good players. Unfortunately, a lot of them have said no at the moment.”
Everton have managed to sign Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, and Douglas Luiz is continuously linked with a move to Merseyside.
Now, there is a fresh update on a rumoured Everton target who is available on a free transfer.

Everton target Josh Brownhill wants to join Premier League club
Everton have been eyeing a move for Josh Brownhill since the January transfer window, with Moyes clearly a big fan of the former Burnley midfielder.
Brownhill officially announced his exit from Burnley earlier this week, with the 29-year-old deciding not to sign a new contract.
After netting 18 goals in the Championship last term, helping his side to automatic promotion with 100 points, there is significant interest in his signature.
West Ham United and Leeds have been linked with a move for Brownhill, whilst Leicester City have now offered him a long-term contract.
The attacking midfielder has declared his desire to join a Premier League club, so there is an opportunity for Everton to do a deal.
FourFourTwo also notes that Brownhill is open to a move overseas.
Brownhill stats 2024/25
Brownhill, despite operating as a midfielder, almost won the Championship’s Golden Boot, which is pretty remarkable.
- 42 appearances
- 18 goals
- 6 assists
Leeds United’s Joel Piroe just pipped him with 19 goals, but the Burnley talisman was included in the second tier’s Team of the Season.
If Everton were to sign Brownhill, he’d likely be competing against Carlos Alcaraz for a spot in the starting line-up.
They’re very similar players, with their skillset focused on arriving late into the box and providing an attacking threat from midfield.
