One of Everton’s midfield targets has now confirmed that he will be leaving his Premier League club.
Everton’s midfield ranks are really light after the departures of Abdoulaye Doucoure and Orel Mangala this summer.
David Moyes has already made Carlos Alcaraz’s loan a permanent deal, but he’s still in the market for another central midfielder.
Several names have been linked to Finch Farm, with Germany under-21 international Merlin Rohl admired by Moyes.
Juventus’ Douglas Luiz is also heavily linked to Everton and has reportedly agreed to join the Merseysiders.
Now, there is another development emerging on a midfield target.

Everton target Josh Brownhill has announced he will be leaving Burnley
Everton have been eyeing Josh Brownhill for a number of months after his sensational season for Burnley.
Brownhill netted a whopping 18 goals from midfield last term, helping the Clarets gain automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old was named in the Championship team of the season, so he’s been a man in demand over the last few weeks.
Now, Brownhill has just confirmed that he will not be signing a new contract at Turf Moor and will be leaving on a free transfer, with his contract expiring earlier this month.
It’s not yet known where his next destination will be, however, it evidently puts Everton in a strong position to land his signature.
Brownhill wanted by Celtic and West Ham United
If Everton do reignite their interest in Brownhill, they will face serious competition from Scottish giants Celtic.
According to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the 29-year-old to Celtic Park, but he is also wary of West Ham United.
The Hammers are said to be circling, too, so there could be a three-club battle to sign the former Bristol City star.
Everton are a really attractive project this summer, with the Friedkin Group also showing their ambition by the signing of Thierno Barry.
The Friedkins are also trying to sign Malick Fofana and Jack Grealish, so those potential transfers could tempt Brownhill to make a move to Merseyside.
