Everton are on the hunt for a new striker this summer and one of their targets has just dropped his verdict on joining the Toffees.

There are a number of positions which Everton will be looking to address in the summer transfer market.

David Moyes has now seen the first stint of the summer window shut for the FIFA Club World Cup and no new faces have been brought through the doors.

But Everton are keen to sign a new striker above all with some major questions still needing to be answered in that position.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future remains unclear as the striker heads into the final days of his contract.

It has been suggested Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton over the coming days and test the market as a free agent.

With this in mind, there has now been a decision made by one of Everton’s striker targets.

VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade makes Everton transfer decision

Everton are interested in signing Nick Woltemade this summer from the German side VfB Stuttgart.

The Toffees have identified a number of strikers as potential options but the German is certainly one on the radar.

According to Team Talk, Woltemade is now expected to remain at Stuttgart despite the interest coming from Everton.

The Toffees have already made an enquiry about Woltemade’s availability.

With the £34m-rated striker aiming to play for Germany in the World Cup, Woltemade is not looking to make any changes this summer given he’s just broken into the national side.

Everton are also eyeing Thierno Barry who Villarreal are demanding a fee in the region of £33m for if they are to approve his departure.

With Woltemade looking like he is staying in Germany, it looks as if Everton will need to turn their attention elsewhere.

Everton are struggling to land their striker targets

It is proving an extremely competitive market when it comes to signing strikers this summer.

Fortunately, Everton have now been handed an opportunity to reset and assess their options whilst the Club World Cup begins.

Everton remain uncertain over Calvert-Lewin’s future with around two weeks to strike an agreement.

The window reopens later this week where the Friedkins will then be able to go again and make a move for a new striker.
