Everton are back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon as they face newly-promoted Burnley at Turf Moor.

David Moyes’ side have suffered back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Arsenal, so they’ll be desperate to return to the win column this weekend.

Jamie Carragher is certain Everton will beat the Clarets, as Scott Parker’s men have lost seven of their last eight Premier League games.

Burnley are favourites to suffer relegation and are currently languishing in the bottom three, so it’s a game Everton have to be targeting maximum points in.

With that said, they have even more reason to be confident based on their recent record against the Lancashire outfit.

Everton have a really good record vs Burnley

Moyes has every reason to be confident of victory, considering the Toffees’ last five results against the Clarets.

They’ve won four of their last five clashes, with just one blotch on the record coming in April 2022 under Frank Lampard.

Aside from that, Everton have been dominant and have scored three goals in three of those games, so history says Saturday could be a high-scoring affair.

The aggregate scoreline over the last five fixtures is Everton 11-4 Burnley, so all the data points to an away win for Moyes’ side.

Everton have two games left in 2025

Everton should really be ending 2025 with consecutive victories, as they have two fixtures against relegation-threatened sides.

Moyes wants to qualify for Europe this season, so for those goals to be realised, these really are must-win games.

A trip to Nottingham Forest follows the Burnley clash, and the narrative around that game will be all about Sean Dyche.

Everton were able to get one over him earlier in the season, so they’ll be keen to do the double on the East Midlanders.
