Jamie Carragher is certain about one thing with his Burnley vs Everton prediction

Everton’s trip to Burnley on Saturday will provide a good indication of how the Blues will really cope without some of their star players.

David Moyes was well aware that he would be losing the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye to the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s hamstring injury has come as an unwelcome blow amid the busy festive schedule.

Having lost against Chelsea and now Arsenal, Everton will need to bounce back against the Premier League strugglers, Burnley, if they are to push on with their targets.

If Everton are unable to beat the Clarets at the weekend then questions will be asked about how the Toffees will cope until next month without their top players.

Ahead of the game at Turf Moor, Jamie Carragher has now shared his prediction after two losses on the bounce for Moyes.

Jamie Carragher shares his Burnley vs Everton prediction

Naturally, Paul Merson expected Everton to lose to Arsenal last weekend, with the Gunners flying at the top of the Premier League table.

Everton did put up a fight and handed the Gunners an early Christmas present with Jake O’Brien’s bizarre handball.

Speaking to Super6, Carragher is fully expecting the Toffees to get back to winning ways on Saturday against Scott Parker’s side.

“Everton will have too much quality for Burnley,” Carragher said as he predicted a 2-1 victory for the Blues.

Everton’s recent form has been impressive on the whole, but the last two outings have put a dent in the record.

Moyes felt Everton deserved more from their loss to Arsenal, with the penalty decision on Thierno Barry causing a lot of controversy.

Not many will have expected Everton to take much from their games against the two London sides, but they simply must bounce back against Burnley.

Everton must avoid entering 2026 with a whimper

Given the absences currently being experienced at Everton, the January transfer window will offer Moyes with an opportunity

Moyes has suggested a quiet January transfer window as it is the month of opportunity for football clubs across the Premier League.

With no guarantees of big spending on Merseyside, Everton cannot afford to allow these next two games pass them by before the window opens.

Taking three points from Burnley has to be an absolute necessity on Saturday as it could propel Everton back into the European spots.

With Everton targeting European qualification, dropping points against sides like Burnley cannot be an option.
