David Moyes is eyeing a strong finish to the transfer window, as he knows European football for Everton won’t be possible without one.
Everton kick off their Premier League campaign against Leeds United next week, and optimism is high ahead of the club’s new chapter.
But Everton are still light, and fans are hoping The Friedkin Group and the recruitment team will deliver for the manager in the coming days and weeks.
Five signings have been made so far, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Everton’s latest addition.
But potentially as many as four more could be required.
And it seems Everton could be in the market for another striker, despite already signing Thierno Barry a few weeks ago.
And said striker has already made a red-hot start to 2025/26.

Everton interested in Franculino Dju

It has been reported by journalist Matteo Moretto that FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju is a player of interest to Everton in the final few weeks of the window.
He wrote on X earlier today: “Franculino Djú, from FC Midtjylland, will be one of the names to watch in this transfer window’s final days. Several teams are interested in him, including Roma, Leipzig, and Everton.
“The 21-year-old forward has already scored six goals in four matches at the start of this season and is valued at around £17 million.”
It had previously been claimed that Everton had been in contact with Franculino’s agents.
Franculino joined FC Midtjylland in 2023 after leaving Benfica, and has really impressed over in Denmark.
So far, he’s scored 40 goals in just 79 appearances for the club – and he is off to a brilliant start in the 2025/26 Danish Superliga, scoring six goals in the first three games.
He’s also scored a further goal in Europa League qualifying.

Everton might have a trump card in Franculino Dju transfer race
Potentially, Everton might have a trump card to play if they do decide to pursue Franculino.
Franculino is a Guinea-Bissau international, so that makes him international teammates with current Everton number nine Beto.
Beto and Dju have only shared the pitch once for Guinea-Bissau, but there is link there nevertheless. It may well be that Beto can help the club in any pursuit.

Given Everton already have Beto and Barry, it would be quite interesting to see the Toffees also go for Franculino.
That said, Moyes was critical of Beto recently ahead of Everton’s game against Manchester United.
So perhaps the plan could actually be to sell Beto and bring in Franculino, who has been branded ‘a complete striker’ previously by Football Talent Scout.
Either that, or Moyes plans to loan out Youssef Chermiti and wants to bring in another centre forward.
