Everton are set to be taken over by the Friedkin Group.

Farhad Moshiri is close to selling his majority stake in Everton and Dan Friedkin hopes to be in post by December.

Once the takeover is complete, change is expected to commence both on and off the pitch, which has put Sean Dyche’s future under immense scrutiny.

Usually, new owners opt for a change in the dugout and with that said, it’s just come to light who Friedkin is hoping to appoint as Dyche’s successor.

Everton make Giovanni van Bronckhorst number one target to replace Sean Dyche

According to Turkish outlet Dirilis Potasi, Everton have made Besiktas boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst their number one target to replace Sean Dyche.

It’s thought Dyche is almost certain to be sacked when Friedkin takes over later this year and van Bronckhorst has been eyed as his successor.

The Dutchman had great success with Rangers in Europe a few seasons back, guiding them to a Europa League final before losing out to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Now in Turkey, Van Bronckhorst has already rejected a proposal from Everton, however, it’s claimed his circumstances at Besiktas are far from ideal, so he could be swayed to leave for Goodison Park.

Everton should stick with Sean Dyche

With the stadium move looming, Everton just need some stability and Dyche is certainly the best man to keep them afloat in the Premier League.

Any new manager now would have to put his own imprint on the squad in the Janaury transfer window and it’d take time to rebuild – which they can’t afford to do this season.

Safety is the goal and then once they’re settled at Bramley Dock, perhaps they can consider a change in the dugout.
