Everton are in the market for new full-backs – and Djed Spence is the latest player linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Seamus Coleman has departed the club after 17 years of service, and it’s expected Nathan Patterson will be sold.

The plan is to move Jake O’Brien into the middle, and for the club to finally bring in a natural option.

After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥

There have been a few players linked so far.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is thought to be on the club’s radar, after West Ham United’s relegation to the Championship.

But today, it’s been claimed Everton could make a move for Djed Spence.

Spence has been with Tottenham Hotspur since 2022 after signing from Middlesbrough, and after a few loan spells, is now a more prominent figure at the club.

Everton are keen, and potentially the Toffees might have a trump card to play.

Spence is thought to have a number of clubs on his tail this summer.

Everton are in the mix – and potentially, the presence of James Garner might be something that swings the momentum Everton’s way.

Spence and Garner have actually played together before, in the 2021/22 season when both players were on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Garner first joined Forest in January 2021 after his loan at Watford was terminated. He then spent the full 2021/22 season at the City Ground, with Spence joining in the summer from Middlesbrough.

The pair were said to have struck up a good relationship at the club.

And actually, they have also played together with the England U21s.

So if Everton are needing a little help with their pursuit of Spence this summer, it might be in their interests to tell Garner to have a little word.

Of course at the moment, Spence is part of the England World Cup squad, meaning he’ll be spending time with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Maybe Pickford could plant a seed, although there are much more pressing matters for both at the moment, as they seek to help their country end 60 years of hurt.
