Everton are looking to build on the signing of Thierno Barry but it’s not going well.
David Moyes made it evidently clear that he expects a few more additions at Everton in the coming weeks.
The fans will hold the Scotsman to this promise as The Friedkin Group seems to be getting to work.
This means it’s unlikely that the Toffees will bring in any more new faces before their opening pre-season game at Accrington Stanley on July 15th.
Everton are very excited by Barry, and another target who brought excitement may no longer be signing.

Everton might have lost all hope with Nicolas Tagliafico
It had been previously stated that Everton have shown interest in Nicolas Tagliafico.
The left-back seems to be considering his future after his contract at Lyon expired, even after their Ligue 1 place was confirmed for next season.
To sign the Argentine on a free would be good business, as fans might recall his brilliance for Ajax in the past.
His attacking aspect could become key to Moyes, as he provides a threat with his set-pieces, and Lionel Messi is a big fan of Tagliafico.
For free, it seems like the perfect transfer, but the 32-year-old might have just ruled out a move from happening.
The former Ajax man has turned down a move to La Liga side Real Oviedo, according to La Voz de Asturias, but the more concerning statement in the report is that the defender is asking for a project that plays in a European competition.
Of course, Everton can’t offer this, and Moyes’ pursuit of the left-back might be all but over.

Everton in desperate need of full-backs
It’s all well and good that the new number nine position has been sorted, but looking further down the pitch, there is concern.
Everton only have two full-backs at the club in Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko, with Seamus Coleman likely to continue with his coaching role after his new contract, but might make a few appearances.
This is a position where Moyes has been hoping for improvement, as he plans to play Jake O’Brien at centre-back after his full-back stint.
After Kenny Tete’s deal collapsed and now Tagliafico, The Friedkins are finding it hard to nail down the position.
There could still be hope that the Argentine sees through the urge for European football, but that looks unlikely, and Everton have found themselves in a spot of bother.
