Everton have already been linked to one player at Bayern Munich in recent weeks.
A story from Caught Offside claimed that Everton are keen to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, after Bayern Munich decided it is highly unlikely they turn his loan into a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Now – according to Kicker – Everton are interested in another player at the Allianz Arena in Sacha Boey.
Seamus Coleman is almost back… does that make a right-back less of a priority in the transfer market? 🧐
Everton fans told The Friedkin Group could make ‘serious’ Sacha Boey bid
The German news outlet believe Everton are monitoring the Frenchman as he faces a difficult situation at Bayern Munich.
Boey has missed the last seven games due to a gastrointestinal problem, although he also fell foul of the ‘Be Ready’ rule Vincent Kompany has implemented in Bavaria, in which substitutes need to have socks, boots and tape all prepared in order to waste as little time as possible.
Bayern Munich insider Tobi Altschaffl claims the right-back failed to follow this rule during the 2-2 draw against Union Berlin in November, prompting Kompany to bring a different player on and consequently hold a private meeting with the defender.
Now, Kicker state that Boey’s situation at Bayern Munich is “not exactly promising” – leading Everton to take a look along with Lyon and Marseille.
Kicker even add that it is “quite possible” one of these three clubs make a “serious” bid for the 25-year-old, who has a contract which runs until July 2028.
Boey signed that deal after Bayern Munich agreed a £25.6m fee with Galatasaray back in January 2024.
Marseille could inflict double misery on Everton
As Kicker mention, Marseille are keen to sign Boey too, but the French giants have already beaten Everton to one transfer target.
Everton were looking to take Ethan Nwaneri on loan from Arsenal, but Marseille have now finalised an agreement to sign the England U21 international on a deal until the end of the season.
What a win! Everton fans, who was your Man of the Match against Aston Villa?
So many great performances 🔥
Therefore, if the Ligue 1 outfit pinch Boey from Bayern Munich too, they will not be popular at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
