David Moyes has been pretty stingy with the minutes given to some Everton players this season.
£8m looks to have been wasted considering Adam Aznou has not been given a single second of action in the Premier League following his arrival from Bayern Munich in July.
The £40m man Tyler Dibling has also made just four Premier League starts – as Moyes bizarrely prefers to use Dwight McNeil out wide instead.
Now – according to The Athletic – Mark Travers is ‘expected’ to push for an exit from the Hill Dickinson Stadium after playing just 180 minutes of football this season.
Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲
The Blues could finish as low as 14th… 😫
Mark Travers likely to request Everton exit
The Republic of Ireland international arrived in a £4m move from Bournemouth back in July. Unlike Aznou and Dibling, he shouldn’t really have been expecting to play a lot of football, considering Jordan Pickford is the undisputed number one at Everton.
Travers has only made two starts – both coming in the Carabao Cup – but The Athletic now say the Everton No.12 is ‘expected’ to push for an exit in search of regular playing time elsewhere.
It may present an opportunity for George Pickford to rival Tom King and become the new deputy to Jordan Pickford. The 19-year-old is expected to get a chance in pre-season after a promising spell on loan at Southport earlier this term.
Us here at Everton News felt Travers could be about to leave, as Hungarian news outlet Csakfoci randomly claimed at the start of May that the Toffees had made an approach to Blackburn to sign another goalkeeper in Balazs Toth.
Moyes would have absolutely no need for another glovesman with Pickford, Travers and King already in his squad, so interest in Toth suggests one of the trio is set to leave.
Should Jordan Pickford now be considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers? 🤔
Gary Lineker is adamant he should 👀
Hopefully, Everton can at least find a way to get that £4m fee back for the 27-year-old, or even make a small profit.
