£4m Everton player may have asked to leave as talks begin over surprise deal

Everton could wave farewell to a number of players this summer.

Adam Aznou seems unhappy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium – having failed to play a single minute of Premier League football this season – while Idrissa Gueye could depart on a free transfer with his contract due to expire.

Mark Travers could be off too – as Everton approach Blackburn to speak about Balazs Toth.

Should Jordan Pickford now be considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers? 🤔

Gary Lineker is adamant he should 👀

Mark Travers may have submitted a transfer request

Everton spent £4m to sign the Republic of Ireland international from Bournemouth back in July as a deputy for Jordan Pickford.

Travers won’t have expected to play much football considering Pickford is one of the best in the Premier League and a regular for England. That has turned out to be the case, with the Irishman making just two appearances, both coming in the Carabao Cup.

The Everton No.12 is under contract until July 2029 – but could already be eager to find regular football again elsewhere after a report from Csakfoci claimed the Toffees have approached Blackburn to sign Toth.

If Everton were just looking to find another third-choice goalkeeper to replace Tom King, surely a free transfer would suffice given the fact the Welshman never plays.

Therefore, the fact a move has been made for Toth, which would presumably cost a few million considering he regularly starts for Blackburn, suggests The Friedkin Group are searching for a new number two to replace Travers.

The Hungarian may not be the only player Everton sign from Blackburn this summer, with Alan Myers telling fans to keep an eye on what happens with Ryan Alebiosu. The Nigeria international is a target as Everton aim to sign a natural option at right-back.

What would you do with Idrissa Gana Gueye this summer? 😬

He's got a one-year extension clause in his deal…

With Hayden Hackney and Femi Azeez under consideration too, Everton could do a lot of summer shopping down in the Championship.
