Everton have now secured their third signing of the summer with Mark Travers joining from AFC Bournemouth.

Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia left Everton as free agents last month, creating a real need to add some new goalkeepers.

With one now through the door, there will be a decision to make as to whether Everton promote a youth player as third-choice, or purchase another goalkeeper.

Travers has now completed his Everton move where he will become Jordan Pickford’s backup.

The 26-year-old will be well aware of his role in the squad given that Pickford is established as the England number one.

David Moyes now wants another four to six new signings through the door this summer, but he has also put one player on the transfer pile on Tuesday.

Everton put Harry Tyrer up for sale after Mark Travers signing

The Friedkins have given Everton £100m to spend this summer, with no big departures expected for the first time in years.

Everton sit in a positive position when it comes to PSR following years of struggles under Farhad Moshiri.

According to Alan Nixon, Everton are now putting 23-year-old goalkeeper Harry Tyrer in the shop window on Tuesday evening.

The opening friendly of the summer against Accrington Stanley could provide a clearer indication of where Everton stand over the goalkeeper’s future.

With Pickford only returning to Finch Farm on Monday, it is unlikely the England number one will be back already.

Douglass Lukjanciks has impressed in Everton training, but the 17-year-old will naturally be lower in the pecking order than Tyrer.

If the youngster is given the nod, then it would be pretty telling.

Everton will demand £500k for Tyrer

Nixon claims the Toffees have put a £500k price tag on Tyrer who has returned to the club from his loan spell with Blackpool last season.

It is not a move which will provide the club with much money to spend elsewhere, but he is clearly not in the plans of Moyes.

Steve Bruce is claimed to be keen to take Tyrer back to the coast, with a number of clubs believed to be watching the game against Accrington Stanley with real interest.

Speaking after a Blackpool game last season, Bruce had some kind words to say about the Everton youngster.

“He made two great saves to keep us in it, two really exceptional saves – and we needed that,” he said.
