Everton are now looking to bring in another forward before the end of the summer window with just two weeks until deadline day.
Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell have operated well in the market this summer with players both coming and going from Goodison Park.
Four new arrivals have landed at Everton over the last two months but there have been some significant departures with Amadou Onana signing for Aston Villa in a deal worth £50m.
Speculation surrounding the future of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains under scrutiny as he plays into the final 12 months of his deal.
Everton’s biggest issue to address coming into the summer was finding themselves a new goalscorer after only bettering the total of Sheffield United in front of goal last term.
Iliman Ndiaye has been brought through the doors but questions will be asked whether his signing is enough.
Speaking with Everton News, TBR Football‘s transfer expert Graeme Bailey has said the Toffees have registered an interest in signing one specific striker this summer.

Everton have registered their interest in ‘special’ striker
One player who the Blues have been strongly linked with in recent weeks is Barcelona’s Vitor Roque with Everton aware of his situation in Spain.
And it seems as if it is not just Everton who have been made aware of Roque’s damning future at the Camp Nou despite only joining in January.
“He’s been offered around. We can say that, for sure. All the Premier League clubs have been made aware,” said Bailey.
“From what I’m told it’s a very very difficult deal to do, and there’s no guarantees yet of him wanting to come to England.
“He’s obviously at Barca and things haven’t gone right. It’s one that’s there, Everton have acknowledged their interest but there’s a plethora of clubs who have. Let’s see how that one goes.”
Everton need to land a striker quickly
With Bailey suggesting Roque has shown no signs yet of being interested in potentially moving to England, perhaps this is a deal Everton need to put on the backburner.
If Everton are to lose a striker in the final weeks of the window, then perhaps this is one which the Toffees could pursue.
But, for now, the ‘special‘ Brazilian is not showing any real indications of being keen on making the move to Goodison.
It is hard to imagine Dyche would want a player at the club who needs to be convinced that Everton is the right move for him.
And given the £30m-rated Roque’s record since joining Barcelona, he is not exactly a player who should be overly picky on where he lands considering he needs more regular first team action.
