Everton could find themselves in a position where they need to sign a new striker before the deadline at the end of the month.

With the 2024/25 campaign now just hours away, Sean Dyche has done all he can to prepare his Everton side for the new season.

The Toffees have managed to bring in four new faces over the two months since the transfer window opened.

However, there still remains a lot of uncertainty as to whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin could leave Everton as he enters the final year of his deal.

There has also been talk of Beto potentially being sold by Everton but Dyche has made the decision to keep him around.

With two weeks left in the window, there could now be an opening for the Blues to make a real push to bring in one of their reported striker targets.

Everton could have clear run now to sign ‘sensational’ striker

This summer has seen Everton linked with signing a number of different strikers from across Europe.

Tammy Abraham is a player believed to be of interest to Everton, but there is another a little bit closer to home.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja has been linked with a potential move to Everton this summer as he seeks an exit from west London.

It had been reported recently by the Daily Express that Ipswich Town were showing real interest in Broja but there has now been a development in Everton’s favour.

According to Alan Myers, Ipswich are now closing in on the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Sammie Szmodics.

On Friday morning, the Sky Sports reporter shared an update claiming Szmodics was undergoing his medical at Portman Road.

And, in turn, this could well reduce the competition for Everton if they are going to seek a move for Broja over the coming weeks.

Despite the Toffees having a number of options up top, including Iliman Ndiaye, there are still some concerns as to whether Everton have enough firepower.

Finding the back of the net was undoubtedly Everton’s undoing last season with Dyche’s side holding the second-worst record in the league.

Would Armando Broja be a good signing for Everton?

Even if Everton were to land Broja, there would still be major question marks as to whether they would have enough quality at the top end of the pitch.

The Toffees could land themselves a young striker who has been hailed as ‘sensational‘ in the past but he remains relatively unproven in the Premier League.

After coming through the ranks, the Albania international has never really been given much of an opportunity during his time at Stamford Bridge which has led to Broja wanting to leave Chelsea this summer.

Having scored just eight goals in the Premier League during his career, there would be big questions as to whether he would even arrive at Goodison with a place in the starting XI waiting for him.

However, if Calvert-Lewin does make a sharp exit over the coming weeks, Everton are going to need to act quickly and bring in a replacement.
