Everton have taken until mid-June to share details of this summer’s pre-season plans.
The World Cup has certainly put a spanner in the works for many clubs across the Premier League when it comes to planning their destinations for their summer trips.
David Moyes and his side have opted for a much more modest operation this time around, in comparison to last summer’s Premier League Summer Series in the United States.
Everton’s fixtures for 2026/27 have been released! What immediately caught your eye about them? 🤩
There will naturally be some financial drawbacks behind Everton’s decision against competing in an international pre-season tournament.
However, there will also be some intangible advantages that could benefit the Toffees as a result.

What are Everton’s 2026 pre-season plans?
It certainly took the Toffees long enough to release their fixtures for the summer, but they are finally here…
| Date | Opposition | Venue | Kick-off time |
| Saturday 18 July | Dundee | Dens Park | 2pm |
| Saturday 25 July | Bolton Wanderers | Toughsheet Community Stadium | 3pm |
| Tuesday 29 July | Stoke City | Bet 365 Stadium | 7:45pm |
| Saturday 1 August | Hamburg | Volksparkstadion | 5pm |
| Saturday 8 August | VfB Stuttgart | MHP Stadium | 4pm |
| Wednesday 12 August | Newcastle United | Murrayfield | 5:15pm |
Everton are also expected to play a final friendly at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on the final weekend before the 2026/27 season kicks off.
There has been plenty of controversy surrounding the fixture set to be played up in Edinburgh against Newcastle United.
Everton are struggling to sell tickets for the Newcastle friendly, with the prices being charged nothing short of a disgrace.
Not only do supporters have to make the long journey to Edinburgh on a Wednesday, but they are also being charged up to £88 for a ticket to a friendly.
Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆
With the large majority of the Toffees’ pre-season games set to be played on UK soil, there could be some serious advantages gained.
Everton hark back to Sean Dyche-style pre-season plans
Infamously, Sean Dyche did not like to take Everton outside of the United Kingdom for their summer pre-season preparations.
It must be considered that this summer’s plans have likely been a result of the World Cup being hosted in North America this summer.

This is not stopping all Premier League clubs, but Everton could benefit from the clear reduction in travel they will have to endure over the coming months.
As an example, both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are jetting off for Australia next month, which will certainly take its toll on their players.
Manchester City will be playing some of their games in Asia, which could well see Everton head into the opening fixture of the season slightly more energised than some of their rivals.
| Club | Destination |
| Chelsea | Australia/Asia |
| Tottenham Hotspur | Australia |
| Manchester City | Asia |
| Aston Villa | Asia |
| Liverpool | United States |
| Leeds United | United States |
| Sunderland | United States |
There is another factor that also has to be considered is the physical exhaustion some of these players will face in the hot climates abroad.
Although, at the time of writing, the United Kingdom is experiencing a serious heat wave, it is clear just how the weather in the United States is affecting some of the teams at the World Cup.
In comparison, Everton will likely be playing most of their games under more manageable conditions on home soil.
Unlike Everton, a lot of these other sides have a significant number of representative players at this summer’s World Cup.
Adding further stress to their bodies through these long-haul trips will certainly not be welcomed by some of the players.
As a result of the modest plans for this summer’s preparations, Everton really should not be heading into the new season with any excuses.
