Everton should abandon Tyrique George deal for PL winger who’d cost £4m extra

Everton have an option to buy Tyrique George this summer.

When Everton signed Tyrique George from Chelsea in January, they made sure to include an option to buy clause worth around £22m.

Clearly, David Moyes and his recruitment chiefs had a plan in place to sign him on a permanent deal, however, that remains up in the air after a chequered spell.

The Toffees are yet to decide whether to activate the clause and have until the end of June to make up their minds.

That said, they should seriously consider abandoning George for a different Premier League winger who’d cost just £4m extra.

Everton should sign Crysencio Summerville instead of Tyrique George

Crysencio Summerville is believed to be on Everton’s radar after shining in a poor West Ham United side.

Summerville, who joined in a £25m deal from Leeds United two summers ago, registered 12 goal involvements this term.

The 24-year-old ripped Jake O’Brien to shreds at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last season and was awarded Man of the Match.

Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔

Clearly, that caught Moyes’ eye, so it wouldn’t at all be surprising if the Toffees launch a bid following West Ham’s relegation.

It has been reported that Summerville could cost just £26m, which is only £4m more than George would cost.

So, if they could land the Dutchman’s signature for that fee, it’d be a no-brainer to pivot from the George deal in truth.

Summerville has interest from Roma, who are owned by the Friedkin Group, so it’ll be fascinating to see which club would take priority.

Given Everton are in the richest league in the world, with a higher financial ceiling, surely they’d take precedence over the Italian giants.
