Everton had a quiet January transfer window with only one fresh face coming through the door at Goodison Park.
Carlos Alcaraz was the only addition to David Moyes’ squad after joining on an initial loan deal from Flamengo.
Alcaraz will become a permanent £15m signing if certain clauses are met, and that’s left Brazilian media shocked at just how good of a deal Kevin Thelwell has managed to pull off.
Aside from that, the Friedkin Group decided to keep their powder dry, which leaves the club in a great position to spend much more freely in the summer.
Moyes is set to be backed with a substantial budget, and with that said, Everton are already eyeing a £33m Real Madrid target.

Everton want to sign Juanlu Sanchez
According to Mundo Deportivo, Everton are showing a serious interest in Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez, who they actually bid for in January.
The Toffees made a loan with an option to buy proposal on deadline day earlier this month, however, the La Liga outfit knocked back their approach.
Everton haven’t given up their pursuit, though, as they now have their sights set on a summer move for the 21-year-old.
Real Madrid are also keen on landing Sanchez’s signature, so David Moyes will be hopeful of getting one over Carlo Ancelotti.
Sanchez price tag
Sevilla hope to insert a £33m release clause into Sanchez’s new contract, which they’re still yet to agree.
Sanchez current release clause is believed to be around half of that figure, so evidently, the club are desperate to tie him down to new terms before the summer window arrives.
Everton will have to convince the Spanish right-back to turn down any forthcoming proposals over the coming months, otherwise, they’ll likley be priced out of a deal.
Premier League rivals Brighton are also keeping tabs on his situation.
