Everton had their first season away from Goodison Park last term.

David Moyes’ side moved into the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, playing in front of 52,000 Evertonians on the docks.

Everton had a number of firsts last season, but perhaps none more notable than the first goal ever scored at the ground.

Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆

Iliman Ndiaye snatched that record with the opening goal in a 2-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion last August.

Remarkably, Ndiaye was also the last Toffees star to score at Goodison Park, so he holds two monumental records.

In a recent interview, the 26-year-old said he still gets reminded to this day about the two historic goals.

Iliman Ndiaye reflects on making Everton history

Speaking to L’Equipe, Ndiaye explained that he didn’t realise the gravity of his two records until people kept talking about it months after it happened.

“At Everton, in just two matches, I made history by being the last goalscorer at Goodison Park and the first at Hill Dickinson Stadium,” the Toffees playmaker explained.

“Writing club history isn’t something everyone gets to do. I hadn’t really realised it, but since people keep talking about it… (Laughs).”

How much would it take for Everton to accept a bid for Iliman Ndiaye? 💷

In the same interview, Ndiaye also noted that he’s really happy in England, suggesting he has no plans to leave Finch Farm for a club overseas.

“Obviously, I love English football. But I also feel at home in this country; I feel free here. My playing style is like my journey: free and unconventional. And they like that way of playing here.”

Ndiaye has been subjected to interest from Manchester City, with Enzo Maresca keen to make the Senegal international his first signing.

But, Everton are in a strong position to retain his signature, as they have him on a deal until the summer of 2029.

It’d take a substantial bid for the Friedkin Group to sanction his sale.
