Everton starts Harrison Armstrong vs Wolves
Moyes has made just one change to the side that lost to Brentford, with Tyler Dibling dropping to the bench and Harrison Armstrong making his first Premier League start of the season.
Dwight McNeil has moved out to the right flank, whilst Armstrong looks as though he’ll be playing in the number 10 role.
Armstrong starts in the number 10 role it seems… thoughts Everton fans? 🤔
The teenager isn’t too familiar playing in such an advanced role, although he did play there twice during his loan spell with Preston North End this season.
There were calls for Nathan Patterson to return to the back four after his impressive performance against Nottingham Forest, but Moyes is persisting with Jake O’Brien at right-back.
Harrison Armstrong is effectively on trial
Although Everton have a long-term plan for Armstrong to be a regular in Moyes’ midfield, this game is effectively a trial to determine his immediate future at the club.
It’s understood that Moyes will have a really close look at Armstrong this month before deciding whether to send him back on loan to Preston for the remainder of the season.
Speaking in his pre-match Wolves press conference, Moyes said: “The truth is I would like him to go back to Preston.
Let’s hear those Everton vs Wolves score predictions! 👀
“I want Preston to get promoted. They’re in a really good position, they’re pushing for the play offs. I think it’s been really good for him.
“I’ve watched him quite regularly for Preston and he’s done a good job for them. If things allow me, then I will certainly send him back because I think it’s really good for his education. But we need him at the moment. If he does well then we will keep hold of him.”
