Everton have now reached an agreement for their fourth signing of the summer.

Just as Sean Dyche‘s side kicked off against Salford City in their pre-season friendly, Everton’s agreement to land another summer addition was announced.

It has been a bright start to the summer for the Blues when it comes to the transfer window with the addition of three players already.

Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Iroegbunam and Jesper Lindstrom have been added to Dyche’s squad with the prospect of more to follow.

And it seems as if the Toffees are now closing in on their fourth addition of the window with an agreement over a defender.

Everton reach agreement for fourth summer signing

Everton may well have been hit with the frustrating news that The Friedkin Group’s proposed takeover had fallen through, but that is not stopping them in the market.

Since the news broke, the Toffees have gone on to add one new face in Jesper Lindstrom with another deal now closing in on full agreement.

However, it is not there quite yet with the player still needing to agree personal terms.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now struck an agreement with Lyon for the services of defender Jake O’Brien.

A medical has already been scheduled for tomorrow if the defender can agree to a five-year deal with the Toffees which has been presented.

The ‘unbelievable‘ defender’s future appears to be away from France and the Toffees look to have beaten a number of interested clubs.

Everton set to add to their excellent defence

Everton came into the summer with no real need to make any changes to their defence given it was the fourth-best in the league last season.

However, Everton have seen Ben Godfrey make way this summer after he left last month for Atalanta due to to the PSR worries.

At least one defender will need to be brought in to make up the numbers but it does seem as if they could be set to win the race for O’Brien.

Brentford had also shown an interest, however, the player is now only an agreement on personal terms away from becoming Everton’s fourth signing of the summer.
