Everton’s recruitment chiefs will no doubt be keeping a close eye on the World Cup matches.
David Moyes is desperate to sign a striker, so Everton will be assessing how the number nines perform in particular.
The Toffees are interested in Barcelona youngster Roony Bardghji, who is plying his trade for Sweden at the tournament.
Which Everton player are you expecting to have the best World Cup? 🏆
Now, a fresh report has just emerged which claims the club are weighing up a bid for another World Cup striker after completing a scouting mission.

Everton considering bid for Japan striker Ayase Ueda
According to TEAMtalk, Everton scouts have been watching Japan’s centre-forward Ayase Ueda.
In fact, the report states that the Toffees have watched Ueda ‘extensively’ over the last few months, so they are now considering a bid.
Ueda is valued at around £30m by Feyenoord after a prolific season in the Netherlands, netting 26 goals in 40 games.
What did you make of Jordan Pickford during England’s opener against Croatia? 😬
The 27-year-old is ‘open’ to leaving Feyenoord for a Premier League club, so that should encourage Moyes’ chiefs.
However, Everton are facing stiff competition for the Japan international, who started the 2-2 draw against the Netherlands on Sunday.
Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Leeds United are all showing an interest in Ueda too.
Liam Delap is also named as another option, with Xabi Alonso unlikely to give him many opportunities at Chelsea next season.
Moyes held talks with Delap last summer and pitched the club’s project before he decided to join the West Londoners.
So, it wouldn’t be a particularly popular signing among a section of the Everton fanbase.
