The January transfer window has entered the latter stages and Everton are starting to accelerate business.
The Toffees sit four points above the relegation zone after their 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.
But David Moyes knows it’s not a time to become complacent and urged the Friedkin Group to make some signings in his post-match press conference.
Moyes wants to implement a more possession-based approach and his training sessions are focused on becoming a more attacking outfit.
To help him do that, Everton clearly need to add some new profiles to the side and with that said, the club are in talks to sign a former Barcelona midfielder.

Everton make contact to sign Arthur Melo
According to Italian outfit TuttoJuve, Everton have just made contact to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who they have been tracking for a while.
The Merseysiders are prepared to swoop in and snatch Melo amid strong interest from La Liga outfit Real Betis.
Many reports have claimed Betis are set to land his signature but as it stands, a deal hasn’t been agreed, leaving the door open for Everton.
Developments are expected in the coming hours and Moyes’ side appear well-placed to sign the 22-cap Brazil international.
Arthur Melo has already failed in England
Melo already has experience playing in the Premier League having spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
His spell in England wasn’t very productive, though, making just one appearance. Melo actually played more minutes with the under-21s.
Jurgen Klopp clearly didn’t fancy Melo but since leaving Anfield, the 28-year-old has enjoyed success with Fiorentina.
He’s again out of the picture back at Juve, so a winter exit looks likely.
